I’ll never forget working with my new financial planner and running through my numbers. Starting with cash, moving through debt, and onto building savings, I wrote the checklist and then she said something that stopped me in my tracks.

“How much are you putting away for vacation?”

Hell-bent on saving, the thought never crossed my mind.

“What are you working for then?” she asked.

Good question, isn’t it? Ask yourself this because it helps you prioritize what’s truly important. Even when we’re under financial duress, it’s important to plan a vacation.

Even Google says right from the top, “People who take vacations have lower stress, less risk of heart disease, a better outlook on life, and more motivation to achieve goals.

Vacations are always worth it because you’re worth it!
