Spinning my wheels in therapy like a tire stuck in mud, I went on and on about how awful my life is. Digging my heels into the carpet to come up for air, I began  noticing it wasn’t getting me far.

“Could you try reframing your circumstances?” my therapist asked.

The key word is try, isn’t it?

Sometimes it’s true, life sucks. I am an advocate for spending time there, feeling the spin of gravel and muck till it whirs down, and then moving forward.

One of the most important things to know, I think, is to recognize you’re not alone.

Now, you may think you’re alone. You may feel stuck in solitary confinement. You may even be thinking all kinds of punishing thoughts.

But there’s all kinds of lifelines available. And over and over, research shows what helps the most is finding support. It’s as close as FB and goes as far as you can reach.

I am now part of an online group called, Angel Moms. While it’s a group I wouldn’t have signed up for, their support reassures me over and over, I’m not alone and by re-framing my choices I can choose a good day.

Life is good. Life is hard, it’s a given.  Life is also beautiful, touching, joyful, and full of wonders we still haven’t seen.

Be sure and re-frame and keep reaching….
