Listening to this interview with Tara Brach and Dan Siegel who wrote the recently published, Interconnected, ignites my thinking about this fascinating time we’re in. Siegel talks of the profound healing that comes from widening our sense of identity and expanding the scope of our awareness.
“Energy,” says Siegel, “is really about moving from possibility into actuality.”
Drawing on indigenous wisdom, contemplative traditions, neuroscience, and quantum physics, Siegel explains how we’re all interconnected, and the more we understand the connectivity of consciousness, the more we see it coming to life. In other words, the more we change the way we see things, the more things change.
What do you believe? How can you keep opening to possibility?
I got to test this theory by dragging myself to my 6:00 a.m. Pilates class in Forest Park on Monday. Preferring my warm bed, my body resisted exercises on the low chair. But the more I felt each press, each push through the ball of my right, then my left foot, the more connected I became. It was like moving through slow motion and I could feel every frame of movement. As I opened to the next step, I became less resistant, I connected to experiencing as I was doing.
Try testing this out in your workouts. Can you be fully present to your connections? Can you feel how it connects you in deeper ways after your exercise?
We are all inter-connected – inside and out.
