I’ve been really mean to myself,” my client confessed while doing footwork, “work, deadlines, kids, and grandkids, pushing me past my limits. I’ve been so hard on my body.”
I could so relate. Can you? It’s that tendency with lots up in the air to gun the engine and attempt the finish faster, faster, faster.
My recent move to a great place fills me with joy amidst tons of grief over losing Sean, and gives me plenty of room to push through roadblocks without yielding to internal signs to stop, take a breath, slow down.
Who sets these lines anyway?
It’s all arbitrary, isn’t it, there’s no judges handing out a trophy at your perceived finish line.
How can we stop this tendency to be mean to ourselves, to create more violence internally when our coping mechanisms are maxed.
Stop, Slow. Down. Prefer the simple to the complex, ask yourself, “how important is it?”
See, it’s up to us to start each day creating a kinder, smarter, and serene world – within ourselves and then the world around us
Instead of forcing your way forward, make the quick turnaround and love the one you’re with.
