Create big changes. That’s why it’s important to be consistent with your workouts. You’re strengthening more than muscles; you’re strengthening the muscles of your awareness.

I’m fascinated by feet lately, and hope you’re looking at these amazing extremities in new ways.

Each one of your precious feet is made up of 26 bones, 30 joints and 100 muscles. Quite a feat of engineering, isn’t it?

And almost every single one of the 600-plus routines in the Pilates repertoire starts with, you guessed it, footwork.

Popular Pilates trainer Brent Anderson handed instructors a mission recently by saying, “Help people understand that movement education and Pilates makes the biggest difference of all. The more people understand their bodies, the more their bodies can change. A small change in ankle movement, for example, can make big changes in walking mechanics.”

Keep stepping up your Pilates experience and using it to expand your awareness. Small steps really do create big changes.
