Love Pilates, don’t you? The chance to tune in, build resiliency, and get strong in the space of 55 minutes.
Two sisters in their 60’s started with me Saturday and I loved sharing all the gifts of Pilates. Better ranges of motion, improved posture, strong core, and that’s just the beginning.
Pilates is resistance training and the matwork is the highest level so if you’re finding it challenging, keep at it and address your challenges. We all get better by committing to practicing Pilates.
Please understand, all the apparatus comes with springs and helps assist the moves. On the mat, it’s just you. It’s you getting stronger and creating deeper connections.
It’s you opening your range of motion. And here’s where Pilates differs from yoga. In yoga, we’re often encouraged to stretch and stretch and stretch some more. This slowly and subtly puts your joints at risk. Pilates stabilizes your joints and that stability builds flexibility.
That’s how Pilates helps improve your yoga, you’re stable from the core and connect from a strong center.
The two sisters are really excited to start Pilates and so am I. Because no matter how long you’ve been practicing – there’s always more gifts!
